The SSC CGL Exam Tier-I 2023 is scheduled to be conducted from July 14 to 27, 2023. The mode of the exam will be online. Candidates who clear the SSC CGL Tier 1 will qualify to appear for the SSC CGL Tier 2 2023.

Upon successfully clearing both tiers, candidates will have the opportunity to secure employment in central government departments.

The SSC CGL Exam Pattern consists of two tiers:

Tier-I:
Candidates whose applications are accepted by the commission will appear for Tier-I. This tier will be an objective type exam with multiple-choice questions in both English and Hindi, except for the English Comprehension section. The exam will have four sections, namely General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each section will have 25 questions, with a total of 100 questions for 200 marks. The duration of the exam will be 1 hour.

Tier-II:
Candidates who qualify for Tier-I will be called for Tier-II, which will have three separate shifts for Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper 1 is compulsory for all posts, while Paper 2 is only for candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II posts. Paper 3 is for candidates shortlisted in Tier-I for the Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer posts. The exam pattern for Tier-II will be available on the official website of SSC.
